Great trail cam, and works as advertised. Setup was straightforward and just took few minutes including the app setup. Decent build quality for the price. It came with a 32 GB micro SD card and batteries. Decent picture quality and the motion detection appears to work fine. Good product and Recommended.

We get a fair amount of wildlife in our backyard and were looking for a camera we could use to capture their images. This camera appears to be well made and we expect it will hold up well outside year around. It comes with thorough instructions for proper placement of the camera to maximize getting images of what you do want but avoiding what you do not want. For example, the instructions give tips for how to avoid triggering the camera with an unwanted sunrise or a car passing by on a nearby road.We have tested the camera both during daylight hours and at night and our happy with the picture quality. Downloading the app to our phone was easy (the instructions have a QR code to scan) and the initial setup of the app was easy.Once everything is set up, we can access the camera using our phone via Bluetooth. Since the distance from our back deck to the camera is only about 25 feet, this works perfectly. Perhaps we misunderstood the product description but we thought this device would attach to our home network via Wi-Fi (like our doorbell camera) and then we could access it via our phone from anywhere via the Internet. This is not the case. This device connects to your phone via Bluetooth, not your home network, so it is necessary to be fairly close to the camera. Since our deck is not far from the camera, using Bluetooth is not an issue. If you want to connect to a camera from a bit farther away or access the camera remotely via the Internet, this may not be the best choice for you.Would I recommend this item? Absolutely yes! I think it offers a lot for the price and the quality appears to be very good. What more could I ask for? I hope you find this information useful.

Great trail cam, it was fairly easy to set up and has an app that increases it's functionality. The picture quality is excellent I am glad I picked this particular camera. Will see how long the batteries last, it does come with the startup batteries, which is always a nice touch.

The NoxOwl trail camera is an excellent product intended for wildlife monitoring and/or watching. The camera is installed in a very robust waterproof (IP66) housing and can be mounted on a tripod or attached to a tree/post with the included strap. The picture quality is excellent (selectable up to 60MP pixel resolution), and the video quality is also selectable up to 8k! The back of the camera has 2 inch color screen that makes it very easy to check out the camera mounting prior to the actual monitoring sessions. The menu buttons are very easy to use in order to navigate through the settings or the pictures/videos. The clamshell type of housing contains also the 8 AA batteries (included) for remote powering of the unit. A nice additional feature is a DC input that can power the camera indefinitely with a USB cable (included) connected to a 5V power supply (not included). Overall I would highly recommend the NoxOwl trail camera not only for wildlife but potentially also for security monitoring.

I purchased this trail camera to keep tabs on the feral cats that frequent our backyard. It also uncovered some other visitors; a family of raccoons, as well as a skunk, and some other neighborhood cats I'd never seen before. This camera has a Wi-Fi function that pairs with a phone app and worked well; however, it results in *very* short battery life. Since the camera takes eight AA batteries, this can get expensive, so I wanted to use it with an external power source.Update: 4/21/2025After further research, it appears that this camera *does* require a 6-volt external power supply, not 12-volts. Just the same, the supplied external USP power cable implies that a typical 5-volt USP power brick will work with this camera. Mine did not, so I returned it.With that said, I preferred the picture quality of this camera to the one I purchased to replace it. Now that I fully understand the external power requirements, I went ahead and reordered one, along with a 6-volt SLA battery and external power cable. The camera works fine with this external power arrangement, so I’m upgrading my rating from 3 stars to 4.A USB cable is provided to permit the camera to be connected to an external power brick. This is even shown in the documentation. Unfortunately, this did not work and not being able to use this camera with an external power brick became a deal breaker. As a result, I returned the camera for a refund and purchased another trail camera from a different manufacturer, a Blazevideo 4K T326 (also available on Amazon). Hats off to Amazon for making this an easy process. The non-WiFi, Blazevideo 4K T326 also takes eight AA batteries. Unlike the NOXOWL, the documentation, as well as the inscription near the external power jack of the Blazevideo camera makes it very clear that it requires a 12-volt external power source, not the 5-volt supply provided by the typical power brick one would use, for example, with a cell phone.I believe the documentation provided with the NOXOWL camera is misleading and in error. I was hoping to get some clarification on the external power requirements for this camera, but NOXOWL doesn’t appear to have a website. Believing the camera to be defective, I returned it. Again, hats off the Amazon for making this a painless process.Since I’ve already returned this camera, I have no way to confirm my suspicions, but I believe the NOXOWL camera *also* requires a 12-volt external power source, and will *not* work with the supplied USB cable plugged into a typical 5-volt power brick. I truly believe the documentation supplied with this camera is in error regarding the external power requirements.Setting aside that issue, the NOXOWL camera worked well, had good resolution and picture quality. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the external power issue. The NOXOWL is a good trail camera. Just be prepared to go through a lot of AA batteries unless you connect the camera to an *appropriate* external power supply.
